Maryon Park Community Garden News - Regular Open Sessions for visitor and volunteer are on Wednesday afternoons 1.0 - 4.0 pm and the first Saturday in the month 1.0 - 4.0 pm. - weather permitting.   All visitors and volunteers are all welcome.

August On Wednesday evening at a ceremony at Greenwich Town Hall, the Community Garden was awarded a ‘Certificate of Merit’  by ‘Greenwich in Bloom 2017’ in recognition of the hard work put into the Community Garden.                 Thank you to our volunteers, supporters and plot holders.

July 2017 Our next Open Day will be 'The Urban Harvest' on Saturday 16th September 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. The Urban Harvest is Capital Growth's celebration of the harvest and a chance to visit and learn about Maryon Park Community Garden. There will be a refreshments, a plant sale, pizza oven and craft stall. 

December 2016 We make the press.

November 2016 We hear we have been awarded £10,000 from the 'Bags' of Help Scheme. The Community Garden is featured in Paul Breen's second novel 'The Bones of the Season'. 

October 2016 Work on the children's mural starts

September 2106 Work starts on the Community Garden Shop my the main gate. The Garden takes part in Capital Growth's the Urban Harvest Open Day as a Flagship Garden. 

August 2106 We encouraged to apply in the second round of the Tesco 'Bags of Help' Grant scheme.

July 2016 The Community garden worry is set up. The worms arrive by post!

June 2016  Over 100 people attend the Community Garden Big Lunch bring and share picnic with the garden pizza oven in use of the first time.

May 2016     Thank you to the corporate volunteer teams for helping with the Wild Flower Bank, new railway sleeper bed and the children's area.

April 2016     The Big Dig Open Day - Thank you to everybody who came to our Big Dig Open Day on Saturday 17th April.There were over 100 visitors so a special thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the reception, the refreshments, the plant sale, the bric-a-brac stall, the tours, the children activities and of course the big diggers.Special thanks to 'P.J. the Magical Clown' for the shows in the Forest School.

April 2016 News  It is the Big Big Open Day on Saturday 16th April 2016. The Community Garden with a Grants from the London Tree and Woodland Trust have completed a shelter classroom for the Forest School pupils. With a second Grant from the  Greenwich Parks Friends Forum a large fruit cage has been constructed for the orchard. Terracing the wild flower bank has been finished thanks to help from Vougar, one of our growing plot holders.

March 2016 News      The Community Garden holds its first AGM. The Chairs Report and the Minutes have been posted on this website on the meetings page. 

February 2016 News  Work starts on the Forest School shelter.

January 2016 News  30 tree whips have been planted in and around the garden.

December 2015 News The Community Garden ran a fundraising stall at Thorntree School's Christmas Fayre.

November 2015 News The Community Garden has joined the Team London Speed volunteering scheme. The Garden has been successful with recent grant applications.

October 2015 News The Community Garden is in the process of applying for grants to provide shelter for the Forest School activities, a fruit cage for the community orchard and improvements to the garden fencing.

September 2015 News As part of Capital Growth’s London-wide ‘Edible Gardens Day’ Maryon Park Community Garden was open to the general public from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturday 19th September. Over 85 people attended and £100 raised for the work of the garden. 

Thank you to the young people and staff from the NCS Challenge who raised funds for the Community Garden on the 19th September and then worked in the Community Garden on Saturday 26th September 2015.

August 2015 News The Community Garden has been inspected by judges from the London in Bloom Competition.

July 2015 News: Capital Growth announce that Edible Gardens Day 2015 will be on Saturday 19th September. The Community Garden will mark the day by being Open from 10.00 am - 4.00 pm for talks and tours, family and children's activities, plus stalls and refreshments.

June 2015 News:  The Community Garden has a new pergola shelter and rain collection system. 

May 2015 NewsMaryon Park Community Garden will have a stall at the Maryon Wilson Animal Park Open Day tomorrow, Saturday 16th May 2015 10.0 am - 4.0pm. Please come and support us:
